Choosing A Computer

There are a variety of factors that you should consider when you go out to buy a computer. Start by figuring out what you need the computer for, is it for home, entertainment, work, or school. A home computer doesn't need to be portable, It is often cheaper in this case to buy a Tower, Desktop, computer. Desktop computers generally are cheaper with better hardware than what you could buy for the same price as a laptop. Entertainment computers can range from an average computer to expensive top of the line luxury computers. If you aren't a Pro-Gamer most modern computers will be sufficient. If you are a student look into getting a Net book for going to school. Net books are lightweight and are good for word processing and connecting to the Internet and have a longer battery life. These are a list of feature you might want to consider:
Portability, Processor, Ram, Hard drive, Video Card, CD/DVD/Bluray drive, speakers, built-in microphone, bluetooth, wifi, sim card reader, card readers, various plug ports.
Portability
Portability means size, shape, and if a laptop battery life. If you need it to be able to be carried around you need a laptop, if not go with the cheaper alternate Desktop computer.
Processor
Processors will mainly control the speed of your computer doing things. A good processor to get would be a duel core processor with at least 2Ghz. If you are getting a net book the processor will be slower (which uses less power). If you are gaming the more GHz it has the better. One last thing to remember about processors a Core 2 Duo 2GHz is slower than say an i3 Core 2 Duo 2GHz. The GHz are the same but the newer processors can do more tasks in less time.
Ram
Ram matters mainly if you are working with sound, or video (games). Generally 4Gb will be sufficient.
Hard drive
This is the amount of space you have for storing files.
Video Card
This matters mainly if you play video games, or video editing. Video graphics cards like processors are constantly changing, nVidia generally has good cards but as of this writing the best video card on the market is possibly the Sapphire Radeon HD 5970
The rest are mainly accessories that are really great to have, but only if you use them.
